Paolo Galetto Portraits

I stumbled across this illustrator, named Paolo Galetto, a Turin born artist.

I really loved his watercolour portraits... but he also does storyboards for adverts, illustrations, painting and architecture.

Here are some of the portraits he's done of models.... (I was never very good at painting people in watercolour....actually I was never very good at painting people full stop!) I love, like a true watercolourist, he implies their features without actually putting in every detail. I always think that's a sign of a true artist...when they are just so good that even with a few strokes of a brush they can create art...where as I meticulously slave over an create a photorealistic painting...only for it to turn out as a completely flat, almost cartoon-like image!

OH WELL! Practice makes perfect!

Maybe I will get out my watercolours today and give it another go. It was what I was trained in after all!!!
