My New Year Skincare Regime

Last night, New Year's Eve, I well and truly started my new skin care regime. Gone are the days of JUST using face wipes to clean my face out of convenience.

I don't have a problem with face wipes but they aren't that gentle, they don't cleanse your skin entirely and they can't flush down the toilet! Whata pain!

So I started my new regime.
Last night I cleansed my skin with LUSH '9 to 5' face cleanser. Which is an 'Orchid Oil Cleansing Lotion'. It's beautiful and makes my skin feel smooth and soft, but feels like my skin is nice a firmed up. It seems to have a combination effect by minimising my pores while not drying it out.

This is one of the first times I've used to '9 to 5' cleanser and I love it.'s suitable for VEGANS! Bonus!

You can purchase this at:

Once my skin was cleansed I applied Estee Lauder's 'Advanced Night Repair' which you can see my reviews on my blog or youtube channel Primp Powder Pout under 'Friday Favourites'

The Advanced Night Repair serum is a 'synchronised recovery complex' which helps restore your skin from the harsh environment, free-radicals, stress and just getting older. It's great for day use as well and particularly nice if you caught a tad too much sun.

You can purchase The Advanced Night Repair at:

Once the serum soaked in I applied my Boots 'Vitamin E Facial Oil'. I have been using this for a while now and also have the facial cleanser, but it's the oil I love the most.

This Boots 'Vitamin E Oil' is suitable for all skin types and great for sensitive skin.

Vitamin E Facial Oil which (from the name) contains vitamin E which is a fantastic antioxidant that helps protect the skin against environmental damage. The facial oil also contains wheat germ oil which is used to moisturise and feed the skin. The container is only small and quite literally costs a couple of ££ but has lasted me since September 2011 and I'm not even half way through.

You can purchase the Boots 'Vitamin E Facial Oil' from:

This morning I cleansed my face with '9 to 5' by lush, I moisturised with Boots Vit E Oil and then I applied Estee Lauder's 'Idealist Pore Refiner' which you can see my full 'Friday Favourite' Review on my blog or youtube channel.

The Idealist is fantastic as it minimises pores which gives you a smooth complexion when applying makeup, but also helps protect the skin from the pores becoming clogged and regenerates the pores and skin cells from inside out. As we all get older, our pores start to sag and pollution, diet, hydration all play a part as well. So at least you can try and combat it from one angle...topically.

Tonight I used my '9 to 5' with my ' 'Clarisonic Plus' because my skin really needed a good exfoliation and deep cleansing. It was looking a bit clogged up and sad. So I used my lovely little facial brush with my cream cleanser to deep clean my pores, slough off dead winter skin, unblock my pores and bring my skin back to life.

I have been using the Clarisonic for nearly 2 years now. I didn't use it during my pregnancy because my skin went a bit strange and sensitive to everything, but now my skin loves it again. It is actually quite good for sensitive skin...I just think mine was a bit 'special' for 9 months.

You can use the Clarisonic in the shower, or over the sink. I did two goes of it tonight to super cleanse my skin, but normally you just press the button once and it signals when to move from each cheek, forehead and finally to chin.

You can have a few break outs when you first use it as your skin is 'cleared out' but once you do that it's amazing.

You can see my many reviews on the Clarisonic Plus on my youtube channel and blog. You can also read more on it's other products and purchase it on:

Last night I stopped with the Vit E Oil, but tonight I added one more thing to nourish my skin further after cleansing, repairing, moisturising.

I have only used this product a couple of times, but I am now going to use it nightly to give a full review on it's effects. I'm talking about bareMinerals 'Pure Transformation Night Treatment' with Rare Minerals ActiveSoil Complex.

According to the pot the mineral powder is 'Clinically proven to dramatically reduce pore and increase luminosity and deliver faster cell turnover- resulting in miraculous skin-regenerating benefits.

This is a powder like all bareMineral powders, however the pot comes with a brush attached to the lid. You tap it upside down to coat the brush, tap off the excess, but no swirling required. Then you buff it onto your skin. You repeat this step 2-3 times for full coverage and this is the absolute last step of your night time cleansing routine.

I will continue to use this and give a full review in a couple of weeks.
In the meantime, if you want to try this yourself or any of the other Active Soil products from bareMinerals, go to:

There's just one thing I'm missing.... A toner.

I have always used LUSH eau Roma Water. It's a beautiful rose and lavender water to nourish and refresh the skin, and is also anti-aging. However, I am looking for something new. I have also used Clarins Energising Toner too, but still would like to try a new one. I'm thinking of trying an 'Origins' toner.

I'll let you know when I find one and do a suitable review for it.

So in a couple of weeks I will come back to you and let you know how my skin is getting on and show a few pictures of how 'radiant' I will HOPEFULLY be looking :)

Happy New Year!
