Christmas Gifts On A Budget 2012

I am one of those rare people that don't complain as Christmas approaches! I love it! BUT what I don't love is how quickly it approaches once it hits December! I can't believe I am only now getting a chance to write my christmas gift inspiration!

I am going to do two blog entries, one for Christmas on a budget and the other on higher end products. I know not everyone has an endless cash supply, including myself! So I had the idea to give some great, last minute gift ideas.

The first one is for the girls who love a bit of makeup!

I know I have written about e.l.f. (Eyes Lips Face) before but I can never mention it enough as they are great for girls who love makeup, colours and even budding Makeup Artists.

Here are some great little items you can get online at e.l.f. . This is not only available in the UK but also in the USA and I have seen them sold in Target as well!

This look was created with the e.l.f. team and here are just a few products used.

Eyelid Primer: £1.50

Black Sutdio Cream Liner: £3.50

Eyeshadow C Brush: £3.75

Mineral Eyeshadow : £3.00

I know I love lots of little gifts rather than one big one. So you can easily add these to stockings as stocking stuffers or wrap them up individually. I think they are great little gifts!
They also do actual gift sets which range from £5-20. Here are some of the gifts for £5-10

Beauty Book: £6.00
(I got one like this from Sephora and let me tell cost a WHOLE LOT MORE than £6.00. What a bargain!)

Another great makeup brand for those looking to gift on a budget is Barry M
BarryM has been around for quite a while now and is always my go-to for great nail varnishes and poppy, striking eyeshadows for the party season!

Here are few great, inexpensive gift ideas and stocking stuffers.
Instant Nail Effects Magnetic: £4.60

Dazzle Dust: £4.59
(This dust is great and will last ages, as it is highly pigmented!)

Glitter Eyeliner Gel: £4.99
(This is, I think, equivalent to Urban Decay's glitter eyeliners for a fraction of the price.)

For those that are looking for real individual gifts for someone special but you don't have a lot of dosh, that's when etsy comes into play.

You can pretty much search for anything on etsy and find something that suits you or your loved ones. What's also great about etsy is not only can you buy new/used/vintage items but you can also buy great gifts that are handmade!

I simply did a search for items 'For Her', 'Item's under £25.00'

This watch is going for £13.50 or $20.00
I think it is adorable, special and won't break the bank!

I love this gift because I love tea cups and I love candles! Totally cute to combine the two and totally original.
Great for those girls who love a little bit of vintage tea party!

Bargain at £6.49 or $10.00

I have vote for this as the most original gift because you can't get any more original and personal than a personalised name bracelet. It shows thought went into this gift! I would love something like this!

What's even nicer is it won't kill your bank balance. I can only imagine that something like this in a jewellers or in Tiffany would cost 100's, but this lovely gift is only:

£17.90 or $20.00

LAST but certainly not LEAST, if you are only a strict budget, I think the most cost effective, thoughtful and personal thing can sometimes be something that was handmade!

The cost of flour, eggs, butter, raising agents, sugar chocolate etc can be stretched out to make several dozens of cookies. You can make miniature ones and place the finished cookies in a small jam jar with a bit of ribbon around it and give that as a gift.

Here is a great recipe to try!

Make 24

225g unsalted butter, at room temperature
350g soft light brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
400g plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
225g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

Or you can take the ingredients above and do something like this:

Especially for those who are pushed for time but still want to do something special! What a great idea!!

For more ideas and inspiration for various things from all prices, new, old, handmade and cooked, please check out my pinterest! I am sure you will find something you like and you can always search for an item you find through my inspiration and get it within your budget...I know I always do!
