Glittery Festive Nails

I'm the first to admit that I'm not very good with my nails. I hardly paint them, especially in the summer (only my toes), but for some reason when winter hits, I go a little crazy for glittery nail varnish!

Its funny that I tend to step up my nail routine in winter, considering my hands are permanently in gloves, but I just don't feel properly festive unless I've got some glitter on!

This year I have tried out some new varnishes! I tend to stick with my 'old reliables' but have ventured into a brand that I hadn't used before but thought I'd give it a go.  George from Asda!

This week, as the weather got colder and the Christmas feeling really kicked in, I got to have a lovely little play with George's Nail Art. Which, I must say...was a little scary to use at first, seeing as I NEVER do my nails. The NailArt varnish comes in a slim bottle with a long pipette so that you can paint any design you like! I went for Black and Gold because..well Gold just felt Christmassy!

I also went a little nuts with the GEMSTONE Varnish in Amethyst and Garnet! One of my pet peeves about glitter varnish is it tend to chip almost the same day it has been applied. I found with these, if I applied a clear varnish first, then the glitter coat and a top clear coat it had a staying power of 4 days. That's pretty good going for glitter I think as it tends to catch an edge and chip...The price you pay for sparkles.

So basically I was quite happy with it's staying power.

Also, with the Nail Art, I found it went on really easily and had great staying power too! For a mere £3 each! That's pretty amazing!
